3 Common Headaches Explained

By October 2, 2026No Comments3 min read

Hey guys, Dr. Garza from 1-Spine Chiropractic. Today we’re going to talk about a common presentation that we see in our clinic, and that’s going to be headaches. Specifically, we’re going to talk about the three common headaches that we see in our office. That’s going to be tension headaches, migraines, and sinus headaches.

Tension Headaches

Now, tension headaches, for most patients, feel like a lot of pressure on the top or the side of your head and the front of your head. It feels as if you’re wearing a tight baseball cap.

This is usually triggered due to poor workstation ergonomics, poor posture. You’re positioned at a computer or a desk, and you have chronic tight muscles in this area, and that’s going to impede on those joints in your cervical spine and even the nerves that exit around that area.

Now, here at 1-Spine, we help treat this by using our chiropractic adjustments, and if the muscles are really tight, we also offer dry needling.

Migraine Headaches

Now, our second type of headache is going to be the migraine headache. This is a more debilitating headache. Patients say it feels like a throbbing pain that’s usually on one side of the head.

In severe cases, these patients complain of light sensitivity, noise sensitivity, and in really bad cases, patients might experience nausea or vomiting.

Now, chiropractic can help with this. We help address the joints that become restricted and the muscles that become tight because of the symptoms of a migraine. But this is another headache that we tend to see weekly at 1-Spine.

Sinus Headaches

And then the third type of headache is going to be a sinus headache. Now, this one’s pretty common out here in West Texas due to the crazy weather changes, the dirt, and all the wind.

When this happens, it’s almost like a precursor to a sinus infection. You’re going to feel a lot of pressure at the front of your head, under your eyes. You might even feel pressure in your ears. Again, this is due to inflammation or pressure buildup in your sinuses.

Now, of course, adjusting the upper cervical spine and doing some other chiropractic care to the sinuses can help alleviate this pressure, thus alleviating your headache.

Reach Out to the Office

Now, if you’ve been dealing with any of these headaches or these symptoms sound similar to you, be sure to reach out to the office and get scheduled so that we can start fixing your headaches.
